Harvest has come! Thank you for the invite. Mr. Jose Tomas, Sr. Guests and residents of Barangay Anao, Hingyon, Ifugao gathered last November 24, 2018 to celebrate the 1st 2NAWON HARVEST FESTIVAL with the theme "Expanding our Horizons, Embracing New Technology, Attaining Unity and Prosperity."
The three-day event highlighted the performance of Hudhud while harvesting contest participated by 12 supportive LGUs, partner cooperatives and organizations in the Province of Ifugao.
The performance of Hudhud while harvesting is one of the most preserved cultures and rituals the people of Ifugao are reviving and continuously transferring from generation to generation.
Using the Biological Farming System, the traditionally harvested heirloom rice (Tinawon of the Ifugao) which is harvested only once a year has now become a rice variety which is harvested TWICE a year thru the introduction of this new technology in organic farming.
Guests who attended the 1st 2nawon Harvest Festival were the very supportive Governor Pedro Mayam-o, Usec. Orlando Ravanera, CDA Chairman and the Representative from the Office of Senator Cynthia Villar.
