SENATOR Cynthia Villar, chair of the Senate Agriculture and Food Committee, inspects the supply of garlic during her ‘tour’ at Batac public market in Ilocos Norte last recently before she presides over the public hearing at Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in Batac Cty to look into the sentiments and problems of garlic farmers and stakeholders from locos Norte and Ilocos Sur on the adverse effects of the huge importation of garlic and its monopolization. She was accompanied by Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos, Agriculture Undersecretary Emerson Palad and Batac Garlic Growers’ Associaton President Rogelio Rosales.
